Restraining Orders
If you are afraid of retaliation by a former partner or spouse after the breakdown in your relationship, you can apply for a restraining order. A court order which prohibits an abuser from coming in contact with you, a restraining order may be necessary if you feel you are threatened by domestic violence from a former spouse or partner, or are being stalked by a stranger. There are different types of restraining orders, notably a non-molestation order and an occupation order. A non-molestation order is used to prevent deliberate threatening or harassment. An occupation order legally places limits on living in a home, and also restricts the perpetrator’s movements around you. If you have been the victim of domestic violence, you can enlist a solicitor to apply for an injunction for restraining your abuser. It would be helpful to seek legal advice and enlist the services of a lawyer experienced in such matters, and that is where Legal Compare can assist you.Simply enter your Claim Value and Post Code below and click "Submit" to get list of Solicitors located near your location.
